egyptian maus!

their predominant traits: egyptian maus have spotted coats that can be in silver, smoke, or bronze colored, with “gooseberry green” eyes, and are the only naturally spotted breed of domestic cats. their coat is short to medium length and they don't shed much. this breed is loyal, intelligent, playful, gentle, athletic, elegant, affectionate, and very interactive, but shy with new people. they're pretty quiet cats, and have a good compatibility with families, children, and cat friendly pets.

common health concerns: the egyptian mau's lifespan is 12-15 years, as this breed is very healthy, and the following are some common health issues for these cats...

  • urolithiasis
  • pyruvate kinase deficiency
  • leukodystrophy

grooming and maintenance:

  • egyptian maus enjoy walks on leashes, interactive play, and even fetch, and are very energetic cats.
  • brush their teeth frequently to prevent dental disease.
  • like most other breeds, they only need baths once they’ve become dirty, and also clean their ears when they begin to appear dirty.
  • they should be brushed once a week to prevent hairballs and minimize shedding.
  • their nails require regular trimming, up to once a week.
