cavaliers!

their predominant traits: cavaliers are very affectionate and sociable with everyone, even other dogs and animals. they love their human families intensely, being constant shadows and lap dogs, however, their love is so strong for their owners that they are prone to separation anxiety. cavaliers are very food motivated, and can beg a lot with their big, round eyes. they also have large, droopy ears and long, silky coats. they can sometimes be barky, are indoor dogs, and shed a little above an average amount, so they need regular brushing.

common health concerns: their lifespan is 9-14 years, and due to a lot of inbreeding, they have quite a bit of predispositioned health issues. some are...

• hip dysplasia
• mitral valve heart disease
• obesity
• ear infections
• cataracts, epilepsy, and eye issues
• luxating patellas
• corneal dystrophy

grooming and maintenance:

• they don't need much exercise, about 30 minutes to an hour daily, such as walks and playing.
• their ears must be cleaned weekly to prevent infection, which they are prone to due to how floppy and large their ears are.
• they need their nails trimmed and to be bathed at least once a month.
• they should be brushed multiple times a week, as well as their teeth brushed 1-3 times a week too.
• they must not be given human food, except for small pieces of fruits and vegetables that are safe for dogs and low in fats because they are prone to obesity.
